How Y'all Doing? by Leslie Jordan

Synopsis:
American Actor and Comedian's personal testimony.

Writing Style: Sensitive, Picturesque, Familiar 70's Humor

Pacing: Moderate.

Personal Highlights: When I first came by this little book I knew it was going to be a relaxing fun read. Just seeing Mr. Jordan sitting crossed-legged on his book cover spelled this out.

I wasn't disappointed. What a treat! I didn't know Leslie prior to getting his book, but found it interesting how star struck he seemed to be for as famous and as many social media followers he has.

Overall, Leslie's stories, reminding me of the 70's movie 'Porky’s’…maybe a milder version, were easy on the eyes...and mind. Debbie Reynolds, Carrie Fisher episodes were touching. 'The littlest things making the biggest difference' I find true. Another quote I adored: "our parents did the best they could with the light they had to see with".

There's just plenty in this memoir to be engaged by. Many of his youth and experiences working in Hollywood were engaging. Sharing who he's met and his innermost feelings were insightful. One of my favorite vignettes was Ronnie Claire. There could be only one Ronnie Claire in this world and she was it. The Olio... loved it. Also, the Pony Farm was another endearing tale. Liked that cartwheel (or somersault 😆) in the film 'The Help' too. Really appreciate the fact he shared beyond being short, or funny, or blue-eyed, or gay. Very good. To (kind of) quote him, "thank you for sharing. And nice to meet ya'!" Definitely a life well lived, and a book well written to boot. Read copyright 2021/2022 edition.
