Finding Me by Viola Davis
Synopsis: Reflections of an American Celebrity Actress Finding Herself.
Writing Style: PASSIONATE. Commercial Literature.
Pacing: Moderately FAST.
Personal Highlights: It took a minute to feel, but trusted the adorable face on the back cover had something to say. Honestly, I looked at that photo for quite a while.
Viola's rough beginning was challenging to read, yet a vivid narration necessary to clearly evidence how far easier it is to remove physical constraints, than mental. I clapped coming across 'the Life Saver Show'. Of course I was rooting for every hurdle, she hurdled; and what an appropriate name in that chapter. I also loved the trip to Africa. That was another favorite. And yeah, the actor/artist industry is not the easiest to pursue, which she shed a lot of insight here, as likewise her views about her role in films such as 'The Help.' Overall, a deep memoir. Highly recommended!
