Daring to Date Again by Ann Anderson Evans
Synopsis: The account of a seasoned woman dating in an era when dating rules changed.
Writing Style: Genuine. Polished. Sumptuous.
Pacing: Moderate.
Personal Highlights: Most titillating was the memoirist letting it be known she is smart, well traveled and learned her lesson after two failed marriages. For the most part she is satisfied with single life. She's only looking for one thing. Truth be, I admired Ann’s spunk, jumping both feet in, into the dating arena after decades of celibacy, but questioned her casual inspection of Zimbabwe's culture and people, similar to one of her remarks about Greece; "whole country running in phases." These inferences happens to frame the interior design of marriage... societal mores left unattended.
But never-mind all that. Brassy Ann just went for it and I, for one, applauded her. Sounded like she knew what she wanted and had few hiccups going after it. The splashes of humor entertained me as well, and I really enjoyed the many dating stories. Guy was my favorite! What threw me for a loop was when the no strings attached dating and the need for committed companionship crept on the pages. Ann got me on that one. Didn't expect it. That's a common challenge many daters struggle to manage. Perhaps some things never change. Straight sex-no strings attached even catch the most seasoned in their feelings. Overall a nice reading experience.
