107 Days by Kamala Harris

Synopsis:
Narration of events and personal anecdotes noted by the 49th VP, 107 days leading up to the 2024 presidential election.

Writing Style: Commercial. In her voice.

Pacing: Fast.

Personal Highlights: Not to leave spoilers for those who have not yet read this short-chaptered, to-the-point punchy memoir, but I must sincerely thank Kamala. She kept it real. Resonating most is this overall aura of political gamesmanship, something she specifically addresses in the infamous “no tax on tips” entry. Her focus on ‘doing things humanely’ from as high a leadership perch was a slippery slope, but I totally got some of them kitchen sink issues. U.S. childcare, poverty-level pay, and those razor thin profit margins for small businesses had me leaning in. ‘Mr. Hyde, Dr. Jekyll’ getting in her head got me as well. Didn’t expect to be tickled like that; her honesty, raw to default, no more prevalent than in the way she laid out the “the presidential debate,” from prep to the compliment Trump gave her. That inclusion will be one for the books. And slipping in an extra, those Doug moments were truly heartfelt. He had to be her rock during those 107 days.

Again, trying hard not to leave spoilers because there were many more takeaways… such as the distance apparatuses like that ‘unforgiving clock’ put between her own personal perspectives, and interviews with casts like Baier, the View, podcaster (Doctor Mike) and the likes. Far from disappointed, our former VP’s testimonies were more investment than expected, even if I can’t entirely credit myself for knowing this was going to be a good read. A Fox commentator tipped me off. Highly recommended. Read hard copy 2025 copyright.
