Mama’s Girl by Veronica Chambers

Synopsis:
A young woman’s testimonies on growing up and managing a mindset many struggle to control on their journey to becoming productive...and happy.

Writing Style: Straightforward.

Pacing: Fast.

Personal Highlights: Read this memoir in a day; almost in a sitting! Veronica jumped into her story like she handled jumping into a double-dutch game. Measured and like a boss. I couldn’t get enough of her tone… that northern speak, giving and showing attitude. It so tickled me coming across remarks like "Nesto…the idiot who probably was only elected president because no one wanted the job." That quip was so visual; much more than offhand snarky humor. Given all she dealt with and faced, her self-esteem and grit was on fire. I barely took notes I was so busy reading!!!

All that expressed, the most poignant moment encapsulating her overall simple, short and straight to the point testimony, was the 1992 Elizabeth Arden spa gift to her mother. That message was heard! LOUD and CLEAR. This is not the book to sleep on. I totally loved it! It is an absolute ‘easily readable’ must. Highly recommended. Read soft copy 2009 copyright edition.
