Nobody Will Tell You This But Me by Bess Kalb

Synopsis: A grandmother and granddaughter digest.

Pacing: Moderately Fast.

Writing: A Dialogue and Essay Mix

Personal Highlights: My favorites parts of this easy on the spirit collection of essays were the endearing dialogues and capers between grandmother and granddaughter. It was sweet reading how grandma doted on her granddaughter, hopping on planes at the drop of a hat to sit outside her darling grandchild’s kindergarten class so she would stop crying. Grandma, clearly a card, will keep readers humored. She not only left Bess with a piece of her spirit, but a healthy serving of the family’s history. Overall, this was a pleasant memoir to curl up with. I imagine anyone looking for the pearls in life will enjoy the narratives as well.
