In Black In White by L.T. Woody

The Good. I really enjoyed the internal reflection. This memoir is quite satisfying in that respect.

The Mmeh Okay. The writing... Woody's life story beginning in the projects (during the 60’s)... meticulously sketching over familiar project-living remembrances is unfussy and languorous, even if it actually works, specifically for readers like me who find themselves in need of a pacifying read that lays things openly on the line, but without the jazzy lettering.

The Best Part.  Quite honestly, I became more than a little intrigued after reading words to the effect, “I received a BA degree in Therapeutic Recreation… don’t ask!” Oh no, I was asking. I wanted to know, which made reaching midway into the memoir, the part where Woody went to boarding school, where things really began moving for me!!! Oh, I loved this part. His meeting guys from around the country, during the 60’s in this boarding school setting, was most interesting. Great Job!

  1. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into my book. I am glad there are still people, like you, who take the time to settle in for the ride with a book, and simply read it. I will mention that there is a second (revised) edition of the book (with a red cover) that may be of interest.

    1. Wonderful! Although the first edition was quite engaging. This was the first time I'd read about anyone attending a boarding school like this one during the time you did. Made for a very unique reading experience. Thanks for sharing your memoir, and thanks for commenting here.
